The result was an especially clean, handsome guitar with all the Les Paul essentials. The Les Paul Studio Pro Faded ups the sonic ante with a pair of BurstBucker Pro humbuckers that deliver warm rhythm and hot, solid lead sounds with the added tonal flexibility of coil-splitting. Hallmark Les Paul features include a set mahogany neck with rounded ’50s profile which offers a smooth playing feel in the hand, rosewood fingerboard, and a chambered mahogany body with a worn satin finish that evokes the fading finish that happens with an instrument that’s been lovingly played over the years. BurstBucker Pro The BurstBucker Pro™ enhances the vintage “edge” of Gibson’s popular BurstBucker™ pickups with the added feature of an Alnico 5 magnet. In 2000, Gibson’s new BurstBuckers captured the subtle variations in true humbucker tone with historically accurate “unmatched” bobbin windings and an Alnico II magnet. Two years later, in keeping with Gibson’s long history of experimentation and innovation in pickup design, Gibson developed an Alnico 5 BurstBucker specifically for new Les Paul Standards. The outstanding performance of this new pickup (originally called the BurstBucker V) led to an overwhelming demand for an after-market version. With the BurstBucker Pro™, all “Pure Tone Lovers” can now have stunning humbucking tone. Like all Burstbuckers, the Burstbucker Pro has asymmetrical coils—true to the original PAFs—which supply a more open sound. The Burstbucker Pro Neck is wound slightly less than the original PAFs, while the Burstbucker Pro Bridge is slightly overwound for increased output. The Burstbucker Pro pickups are also wax potted to allow loud volume pressures with minimal feedback. Coil-splitting via a push/pull switch on each pickup’s volume control gives you the added sonic dimensions of single
