Essentially the same design as when it was introduced in the mid-1940s, the Bigsby vibrato tailpiece model B70 allows players the ability to bend the pitch of notes or entire chords for vintage-style vibrato. It has been a fixture on many legendary Gibson guitars, and was named after its late inventor, Paul A. Bigsby, who sold his Bigsby Guitar company to legendary former Gibson President Ted McCarty in 1966. This classic piece of guitar hardware performs flawlessly thanks to several added enhancements such as a Schaller roller bridgea unit based on Gibson’s own Tune-o-matic, but with individual roller saddlesfor improved return-to-pitch capabilities when the vibrato is used,.a Corian nut for smooth string action, a set of TonePros tuners to help keep the strings in tune, and a Schaller roller bridge to help the strings go back to the original tuning after using the Bigsby vibrato. With all the fat, sweet, snarling Les Paul tone that purists love, the new Gibson Les Paul Traditional with Bigsby sports a mahogany body with a thick maple cap for the perfect blend of warmth and clarity. Introduced in 1992, the ‘57 Classic humbucker in the neck position provides warm, full tone with a balanced response, packing that classic Gibson PAF humbucker crunch, inspired by those original PAFs that received a few extra turns of wire. A slightly hotter 57 Classic Plus in the bridge for gutsy crunch and soaring lead tones. These acclaimed units are made with genuine Alnico II magnets and wound with 42 AWG wire, just like the legendary PAFs of the late ’50s and early ’60s.The Les Paul Traditional with Bigsby is crafted with all the classic

A solid, carved maple top and chambered mahogany body give the Les Paul Studio ’60s Tribute the same tonewood combination that has been helping Les Pauls rock for nearly 60 years. Authentic vintage-style finishes present a guitar with the look of a well played original, while the instrument’s unbound body and neck keep it in line with the popular Les Paul Studio line. The headstock of the Gibson Les Paul Studio 1960s Tribute is equipped with Grover Kluson style green keys. With a gear ratio of 14:1, these tuners deliver precision tuning in a durable housing that provides maximum protection for the gear and string post. The Gibson Les Paul’s Tune-O-Matic bridge, sets a standard for simplicity and functionality that has never been bettered. The Tune-O-Matic provides a firm seating for the strings, allowing the player to adjust and fine-tune the intonation and string height in a matter of minutes. Both the neck and bridge position pickups are equipped with cream-colored screaming single-coil P-90 pickups. The P-90 was the standard pickup on all Gibson guitars in the late 1940s and into the 1950s and because of its crisp, bright tone it has experienced resurgence in popularity with many of today’s modern rockers. These classic Gibson guitar pickups deliver sizzling, slightly gritty midrange roar. You’ll find that the P-90s’ high output and biting treble has more nuanced harmonic coloring than the typical single-coil pickup.

Gibson USA GEM active humbuckers supply the dark, foreboding tones to create an epic soundscape. As the members of Spinal Tap put it, “What could be more black? None, none more black.” The beating heart of the SG Gothic Morte (morte is French for death) is represented by a pair of Gibson USA’s amazing new GEM (Gibson Electronics Manufacturing) active pickups. Made in the image of the greatest traditional passive pickups of all time, Gibson’s own PAF (“Patent Applied For”) humbuckers, the GEMs have Alnico II magnets and coils wound with 42 AWG enamel-coated wire. They also include active electronics for greatly improved output and extremely low-noise performance. The GEMs are powered by a single 9v battery that yields approximately 1500 hours of service. They have a voice and playing feel akin to Gibson’s popular Burstbuckers, with all of that humbucker’s characteristic “smooth with edge” tonal response, and they are immune to the loading effects of volume and tone potentiometers. They offer an extremely fast transient response for unprecedented articulation (yet with all the classic humbucker warmth and smoothness), and are extremely compatible with both effects pedals and clean amp settings. Suitable for all styles of music, the GEM active pickups represent a huge leap forward in performance and versatility. Comprising the traditional solid-mahogany body and neck that has provided a rich, resonant platform for SG models for 50 years, the SG Gothic Morte introduces an exotic new fingerboard wood, African Obeche. A dark, dense alternative to Ebony, African Obeche is fully sustainable. As used on the Les Paul Gothic Morte, the African Obeche fingerboard carries no inlays or binding to extend the model’s “none more black” styling. In addition to the guitar’s Satin Ebony nitrocellulose finish, the SG

The one constant factor in all of them is the Edge Zero II tremolo with the Zero Point System, which allows for killer trem effects as well as total tuning stability. These trem-equipped guitars have ushered in a whole new way to play hard rock and metal and they continue to push the boundaries while standing up to the most abusive whammy bar users around. Lightning fast fretboard work is no problem with the Wizard neck, flat fingerboard, and jumbo frets.

The result was an especially clean, handsome guitar with all the Les Paul essentials. The Les Paul Studio Pro Faded ups the sonic ante with a pair of BurstBucker Pro humbuckers that deliver warm rhythm and hot, solid lead sounds with the added tonal flexibility of coil-splitting. Hallmark Les Paul features include a set mahogany neck with rounded ’50s profile which offers a smooth playing feel in the hand, rosewood fingerboard, and a chambered mahogany body with a worn satin finish that evokes the fading finish that happens with an instrument that’s been lovingly played over the years. BurstBucker Pro The BurstBucker Pro™ enhances the vintage “edge” of Gibson’s popular BurstBucker™ pickups with the added feature of an Alnico 5 magnet. In 2000, Gibson’s new BurstBuckers captured the subtle variations in true humbucker tone with historically accurate “unmatched” bobbin windings and an Alnico II magnet. Two years later, in keeping with Gibson’s long history of experimentation and innovation in pickup design, Gibson developed an Alnico 5 BurstBucker specifically for new Les Paul Standards. The outstanding performance of this new pickup (originally called the BurstBucker V) led to an overwhelming demand for an after-market version. With the BurstBucker Pro™, all “Pure Tone Lovers” can now have stunning humbucking tone. Like all Burstbuckers, the Burstbucker Pro has asymmetrical coils—true to the original PAFs—which supply a more open sound. The Burstbucker Pro Neck is wound slightly less than the original PAFs, while the Burstbucker Pro Bridge is slightly overwound for increased output. The Burstbucker Pro pickups are also wax potted to allow loud volume pressures with minimal feedback. Coil-splitting via a push/pull switch on each pickup’s volume control gives you the added sonic dimensions of single
